Delivery & pickup

Where does TheShop.mu deliver?
We deliver everywhere in Mauritius. You choose your delivery address during the online checkout process. Please note that we only deliver to addresses in Mauritius, we do not offer overseas shipping.
How quickly does TheShop.mu deliver?
Depending on the products in your order, you can choose between:
  • Same-Day Delivery
  • Next-Day Delivery or Pickup
  • Delivery or Pickup in 2 business days

Most of our products are available for Same-Day delivery. The items that are not are clearly labelled with their delivery delay on the product page.

At what time will TheShop.mu deliver?
When you check out, you select a delivery or pickup date and time. Pickup slots are available every 15 minutes from 10:00 to 16:00. Delivery slots are:
  • 9:00 to 11:00
  • 11:00 to 13:00
  • 14:00 to 16:00

Same-day orders are delivered between 16:00 and 18:00.

How much do you charge for delivery?
Same-Day and Next-Day delivery are both completely free, and in-store pickup is free as well. The minimum order value is Rs 2,000. Specific delivery options have their own minimum order rules — see the Delivery options section below for details.
How are frozen and fresh products delivered?
Frozen and fresh food products are stored in two separate refrigeration units onboard each of our delivery vans. They are transferred quickly from our cold rooms straight into the appropriate fridge or freezer in the van that is coming to you, so the cold chain is maintained at all times.

Delivery options in detail

Same-Day Delivery
We offer Same-Day delivery anywhere in Mauritius on almost all items in store. A few items are labelled with a delivery delay and are not available Same-Day. You must place your order before 13:00. Same-Day delivery is charged at Rs 300 for orders below Rs 7,500, and is FREE on orders above. Minimum order value: Rs 3,000.
Next-Day Delivery
We offer Next-Day delivery anywhere in Mauritius on all items in store. Order before midnight and choose from one of our three delivery slots: 9:00 to 11:00, 11:00 to 13:00, or 14:00 to 16:00. Next-Day delivery is FREE. Minimum order value: Rs 3,000.
In-Store Pickup
Pickup is available from our facility in Riche Terre. Order before midnight for next-day pickup, or before 13:00 for same-day pickup. Pickup is completely free of charge. Minimum order value: Rs 3,000. You will see the exact pickup pin at checkout when you select this option.
Why don't drivers check the order with me on delivery?
We have a thorough checking process in place before your order leaves our warehouse, so there is no need to verify each item at the door. If anything is missing, damaged, or wrong on arrival, please contact us and we will make it right.
How do you protect product quality during transport?
Every van is equipped with two refrigeration units, one kept at 3°C for fresh items and one at -20°C for frozen, plus air conditioning to preserve heat-sensitive dry products. We also handle your goods for the shortest time possible, and unlike traditional supermarkets no other customers ever pick up and put back your products, which significantly reduces the spread of germs.

Payment & pricing

How can I pay for my order?
You can pay using any of the following methods, all online through our secure payment gateway (Peach Payments) and prior to delivery:

Are prices in Mauritian rupees?
Yes. All prices on TheShop.mu are displayed in Mauritian rupees (MUR), inclusive of VAT where applicable.
How do gift orders and advance payments work?
If you are buying for someone else as a gift, please follow these steps:
  1. Add items to your cart and click checkout when you are done.
  2. Enter the recipient's address as the shipping address, and provide a valid contact number for them.
  3. Add a note to your order stating that it is a gift, and include any extra instructions for the team.
  4. Pay for the order as you normally would.

Please note that you cannot give someone "credit" to shop with us by paying a sum in advance.

Corporate accounts

Do you deliver to companies?
Yes, we deliver to many businesses across Mauritius and offer special payment facilities for our corporate clients. Registered businesses may apply for a 30-day credit facility (subject to terms and conditions), with a single invoice issued at the end of each month, payable within 14 days from the invoice date. Corporate customers can also pay by card prior to delivery if they prefer not to wait for their application to be processed. For more information, please contact us at [email protected].

Managing your orders

How do I amend my order?
Amending an order will cancel the original order. You will lose the original delivery slot and be returned to your shopping cart with all of the items you previously ordered. Make the changes you need, choose a new delivery slot, and complete the new order. Alternatively, contact us at [email protected] or +230 5250 6006 and we will make the changes for you.
How do I change my delivery address?
After placing your order, you can still change the delivery address as long as you give us enough notice, usually no less than 6 hours. To change your delivery address, email us at [email protected] with your order number and the new address. You can also change it from your My Account page by selecting the order and clicking Edit. Note that the original delivery slot may no longer be available, in which case you will need to choose another one.
How do I change my delivery slot?
The fastest way is to call our customer support team on +230 5250 6006, or email [email protected], and request a change. We will confirm whether the slot you would like is still available.
How do I cancel my order?
Go to your My Account page, click the order number you wish to cancel, and click Cancel. You will receive an email confirmation once the cancellation is successful. Only orders that have not yet been fulfilled can be cancelled. If you have already paid for your order, you can also cancel by emailing [email protected] with your order number and the reason for cancellation.

Please note that orders cancelled on the day of delivery are subject to a cancellation fee of 10% of the order value.

Your account

How do I change my password?
Go to My Account, log in, click Edit Your Account, and then Reset Password. We will email you instructions to complete the change.
How do I change my account details?
Your account details — name, address, phone number — can be updated from your My Account page. Please note that the delivery address for an order that has already been placed can only be changed by emailing us at [email protected] or by calling +230 5250 6006. Please always include your order number when contacting us.
How do I delete my account?
Under the Mauritian Data Protection Act 2017, you have the right to request deletion of your personal data. Send us an email at [email protected] with the subject line "DPA Request". Some records (invoices and tax records) are kept for the period required by Mauritian law. See our Privacy Policy for the full picture.

Privacy & cookies

What personal data do you collect?
Email, phone, delivery address, payment confirmation (we do not store full card numbers), order history, and behavioural data such as browsing and cart activity, used to operate the service and improve it. The full list, with purposes and retention periods, is in our Privacy Policy.
Do you use cookies?
Yes, both essential cookies (needed to run the cart, login, and checkout) and optional ones (analytics and marketing). Under the Mauritian Data Protection Act 2017 we ask for your consent before setting any non-essential cookie. You can change your choices at any time from the Cookie preferences link in the footer.
How do I exercise my data subject rights?
Under DPA 2017 you can request access, correction, erasure, or object to certain processing. Email [email protected] with the subject line "DPA Request". We respond within the timelines required by Mauritian law.
