Our story
From Riche Terre to your door.
TheShop.mu Ltd began in 1983 as a Mauritian trading and distribution company. Forty years on, we have grown into a multi-discipline business with deep roots in food distribution, cold-chain logistics, and serving the hotel and retail trade across the island.
TheShop.mu is the consumer-facing chapter of that story. We built it because doing the weekly shop should not cost you half a Saturday. Our facility in Riche Terre, our refrigerated vans, and our team of pickers and drivers turn an online order into a carefully chilled box on your doorstep — same day where possible, next day everywhere else.
We do not import recipes from supermarkets abroad. We are Mauritian, our customer service is Mauritian, our pricing is in rupees, and our deliveries follow the realities of getting around this island. That includes the rougaille on a Sunday, the dholl puri at breakfast, and the thoughtful gift dropped off for a relative across the country.

Real cold chain
Every van carries two refrigeration units — one at 3°C for fresh items and one at -20°C for frozen — plus air conditioning for heat-sensitive dry goods. Your products go from cold room straight into the right compartment, never a customer's hand and back to the shelf.
Same-day, free
Place your order before 1:00 PM and you can have it the same day, between 4:00 and 6:00 PM. Above Rs 7,500 it is on us. Next-day delivery is free across the island, and pickup from Riche Terre is always free too.
Local payments
Pay the way Mauritians pay: MCB Juice, blink by Emtel, MauCAS QR, or any credit/debit card — all processed securely through our payment gateway, Peach Payments (PCI DSS Level 1). We never store your card number.
For business
We supply hotels, offices, and SMEs across Mauritius.
Registered businesses can apply for a 30-day credit facility with a single consolidated monthly invoice, payable within 14 days. Or pay by card on each order while the application is being processed — whichever suits your accounting team better.
